Correct preparation helps prevent moisture-related weak layers, uneven surfaces and stringing.
Practical note: Print immediately after drying.
Before purchasing, check that the printer and preparation meet all four requirements.
Prof. Lab PA12 1.75mm 1kg Black — colour: black.
Prof. Lab PA12 is an engineering-grade nylon filament with good toughness, wear resistance and fatigue resistance, together with lower moisture absorption than many other nylons. It maintains dimensions well and suits parts exposed to repeated movement or loads.
PA12 combines durability, dimensional stability and low friction, making it a practical choice for engineering components.
PA12 requires an all-metal hot end capable of reaching 290 °C. For larger parts, an enclosed printer helps reduce drafts and improve dimensional stability.
Although PA12 absorbs less moisture than many other nylons, it should still be dried before printing and stored in a sealed container with desiccant.
The exact printing parameters, drying recommendations and printer requirements are listed in the specification table above.
